Hitachi Ltd. recently set up Hitachi Consulting India Pvt. Ltd. with a capital of 40 million rupees (74 million yen) to develop systems for Western companies. The Indian unit has hired about 100 Indian IT engineers, and intends to expand its workforce to 400 people in 2012.
